Beat Street: Guess? and OmniVision (NYSE: GES), (NASDAQ: OVTI)

Apparel and semiconductor image-sensor devices earnings, does life get any better?  Let’s start with Guess?, Inc. (NYSE:GES), who Q3 EPS of $0.69, thereby beating the Street by $0.18. They posted a revenue of $523M which was up from Q2 of $483M. Guess is projecting that Q4 EPS will be in the range of $0.77-0.80 on revenue of $585M to $605M. The company also proejcts full-year fiscal EPS to be in the range of $2.45-2.48 versus the $2.19 projected. Shares Investors are liking it with shares at +8.6% in afterhours trading. (more)

Next up is OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:OVTI) and they posted FQ2 EPS at $0.27, beating the Street by $0.11 a share, not bad. The company had a revenue of $183M, which is +12% from FQ2 2008 and up some from FQ1 2009 of $164M. The company projects FQ3 revenues will be between $145M and $160M, which slightly less than estimates of $169M. The FQ2 earnings surprise helps, but investors seem turned off by the reduction in FQ3 outlook, shares are -9.7% in the afterhours. (more)
