Earnings Thursday Include Amazon, 3M, and JetBlue (AMZN, MMM, JBLU)
Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN), 3M Company (NYSE:MMM), and JetBlue Airways Corp. (NASDAQ:JBLU) all report earnings tomorrow (Oct 21st). JetBlue could keep trending higher but the best bet is going long Amazon.

JetBlue Airways Corp. (NASDAQ:JBLU) reports Q3 2009 earnings at 9 AM EST tomorrow. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect JetBlue to post a profit of 5 cents per share on $846.8 million in sales. Last year JetBlue lost $4 million, or 2 cents per share, with revenue of $902 million.
In the past 3 months JetBlue shares have comeback 25% and even got as high as $6.50 a share.
AMAZON
Amazon.com (AMZN) shares are already flying high going into earnings trading near its 52-week high and in the low $90 level. The consensus is that Amazon. will announce EPS growth of 22.2% on a 17.8% rise in sales versus the company’s year-ago quarter. Amazon has topped analyst estimates in each of the last four quarters.
Amazon.com recently dropped the price of its best-selling Kindle to $259 and introduced a new Kindle with U.S. and international wireless. In another move to spur future growth, the company added a same-day shipping option in seven major U.S. cities last week.
3M
3M Company (MMM) shares are trading just $1 away from 52-week high at $76 and change. Thomson Reuters survey of analysts shows an average expectation of profits at $1.17 per share on revenue of $5.8 billion. Last year the company earned $1.41 per share on revenue of $6.56 billion.
UBS analyst Jason Feldman, who has a "Buy" rating on the stock, said that three things may create unexpectedly good third-quarter results for 3M: customers buying goods to restore their inventory, a benefit from government stimulus spending and the weak dollar.
