Welcomed Upgrades: Microsoft, Texas Instruments and RadioShack
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Instruments Incorporated (NYSE:TXN) and RadioShack Corporation (NYSE:RSH) all received some good financial news today… Upgrades! Some a little nicer than others, but we will delve into that a bit here.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) received due credit today as the analyst Argus finally upgraded the stock from Sell to Hold. This comes after Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)recently surprised at earnings and a slew of analyst recommendations were reiterated, including RBC Capital Markets,
McAdams Wright Ragen, Jefferies & Co, Credit Suisse, Caris & Company, Canaccord Adams, Barclays Capital, and Auriga U.S.A. The approximate average price target from all these reiterations is $31.50. Shares of Microsoft are currently trading about even for the day at $28.67 after a small gap up open to $28.73 a share.
Shares of Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE:TXN) got a double-whammy this morning as FBR Capital upgraded the company from Market Perform to Outperform, followed by Kaufman Bros initiating a Hold recommendation for the stock. FBR set a price target of $31, while Kaufman put it at $26 a share. Investors are hoping that Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE:TXN) will live up to the hype with shares currently trading at $23.87/share (+0.7%) after gapping up at open to $24.03.
Ah, RadioShack Corporation (NYSE:RSH), the company that seems to always have that little electrical component you always need when doing a wiring project… After reporting some better than expected results yesterday, KeyBanc Capital Markets upgraded RadioShack Corporation (NYSE:RSH) from Underweight to Hold, although they did not set a price target. The analyst FBR Capital had reiterated the stock recently at Outperform, setting a price target of $19, back when the stock was trading around $16 a share. Currently the stock is trading at $17.70/share, which is down a couple percentage points from yesterday’s high driven by the good news.
