Stocks News: US Airways (NYSE:LCC)+United (NASDAQ:UAUA), Bove on Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), and Kohl’s (NYSE:KSS)
US Airways (NYSE:LCC) and United (NASDAQ:UAUA) are reported to be in talks that could create the nation's second-largest carrier. This is the third attempt in the last 10 years for the two companies to attempt a merger.
The Fast Money crew spoke with Richard Bove, an analyst with Rochdale Securities to find out which bank stocks he favors ahead of earnings. On Tuesday's "Fast Money" show, Bove told viewers: "Goldman Sachs Group (NYSE:GS) is one of the best companies, if not the best company that I've ever analyzed. I'm committed to owning that stock." Kohl's Corporation (NYSE:KSS) said Thursday same-store sales rose 22.5% in March. Thomson Reuters estimated a rise of 12.4% For the five-week period ending April total sales increased 26.4%. Kohl's raised its first-quarter earnings target to 55-57 cents a share, from its earlier view of 48-52 cents a share. Wall Street analysts expect earnings of 56 cents a share, according to a survey by FactSet Research. – MarketWatch
