New Highs for Archer Daniels, Visa, and VistaPrint
New 52-week highs for shares of Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE:ADM) and VistaPrint (NASDAQ:VPRT) as the bulls charge higher for the day.
Visa (NYSE:V) hit $79.50 today before backing down to $79.25. (V) just extended the global reach of its Visa Money Transfer Service to greater China and the United Arab Emirates, two of the world's most active territories for international remittance.
Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE:ADM) shares peaked at $32.58 today, in 2009 shares of ADM are up 12%. Yesterday Archer reported Q3 net income fell to $496 million, or 77 cents per diluted share, from $1.05 billion, or $1.62 per diluted share, in the same quarter a year ago. The analysts’ consensus compiled by Thomson Financial Network was 57 cents per diluted share.
ADM Net sales of $14.92 billion were down 29 percent from $21.16 billion in the first quarter of 2008, which was a record-high quarter for ADM. Lower average selling prices had the most influence on the top line. Foreign-currency translation also had a slight impact.
VistaPrint NV (NASDAQ:VPRT) shares are up 1.4% to $54.06 and hit a new high of $54.63 earlier this morning. VistaPrint has been on a high since reporting last week that for the fiscal year 2010, the company expects revenue to be approximately $615 million to $645 million. Earnings, including charges, is expected to be about $1.39 to $1.49 per share and excluding charges about $1.85 to $1.95 per share. Analysts anticipate earnings of $1.94 per share on revenues of $627.77 million.
