Asian Stocks Climb Wednesday Morning
Today's Rally continued in Asia Wednesday -- Japan's Nikkei 225 index was 1.6%, South Korea's Kospi Composite was up 1.4%. Australia's S&P/ASX was up 0.4% while New Zealand's NZX-50 was up 0.9%.
All markets open for trading in Asia rose. Futures on the U.S. Standard & Poor’s 500 Index dropped 0.2 percent. Coming off of yesterday's losses, the upswing gets a warm welcome for Asian traders.
The gauge jumped 4 percent in New York yesterday, the most in a month, as Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said there was a “reasonable prospect” the current recession will end this year. This will be the case should regulators manage to restore stability in the financial industry, he said in remarks to the Senate Banking Committee.
Happy Investing come Wednesday morning.
