IMAX Options are Heating Up (IMAX)

IMAX Corp. (NASDAQ:IMAX) shares ran up 6.9% and hit a new 52-week high, they finished the day at $12.58.  However what is getting traders attention are the 2010 January and March IMAX options which were on fire today.

OptionMONSTER.com noted the March 2010 $15 options were the most active strike, changing hands more than 5,000 times against open interest of 115 contracts. Premiums increased from $0.45 early in the session to as high as $0.85 as the shares climbed.  The March 2010 $12.50 strike was also hot moving over 1,000 times:

The January 2010 $12.50 contacts jumped 100% today on volume of 2,689 against just 308 open contacts.
