New 52-week Highs for 3M Company, Ford Motor, and News Corp (MMM, F, NWS)

Despite a lack luster trading day we have three big new 52-week Highs for shares of 3M Company (NYSE:MMM), Ford Motor (NYSE:F), and News Corp (NASDAQ:NWS).

3M Company (MMM) hit $82.65 a share today and has more than doubled since hitting its low back in March.  Shares of 3M have been on a roll since the upgrade from Citigroup Inc. (Public, NYSE:C) on Dec 9th.  Citi popped the shares of the company from a Hold to a Buy and raised a price target to $92. 

As of recent, Triple M has been in a bullish trending price channel that started in August of 2009. 3M has been a strong company for years and could be considered a staple for many portfolios.  With a dividend yield of 2.65% in a world where 8% annual return is now considered the average, 3M just might be a company worth considering.  

Ford Motor (F) hit a new 52-week high of $9.46 and YTD the America car company has watched its stock surge 308%.

Yesterday Ford (F) Europe reported November sales rose 19.8% over last year, the sixth consecutive monthly volume increase.

The sales surge pushed Ford's European market share for November to 9.1%, the highest since 1999. Ford's market share was up in 14 of its main 19 European markets in November

News Corp (NWS) shares hit $16.66 today after an upgrade by analysts at Deutsche Bank.  The analysts lifted NWS to Buy from Hold. Over the last 52 weeks the stock has ranged from a low of $8.93 to a high of $16.66.

Google has bowed to pressure from news organisations led by News Corporation's Rupert Murdoch demanding an end to free news content.

In a statement yesterday, Google Senior Business Product Manager Josh Cohen announced the introduction of First Click Free, a scheme enabling participating content providers to present a subscription screen to users clicking through to their sites from Google News frequently.
