Workers at a Boeing Co. facility that builds large cargo jets have ratified a new labor contract and returned to work Thursday, ending a month-long strike that jeopardized the expensive military program. UAW Local 148, which represents some 1,700 assembly-line workers at the Long Beach, Calif., C-17 facility, said members ratified a proposed contract late Wednesday night, with 822 of its members supporting the new deal and 544 opposed.  – MarketWatch

National Semiconductor (NSM) this afternoon reported revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter ended May 30 of $398.5 million, ahead of the Street consensus at $384.2 million. Profits of 33 cents a share beat the Street by a nickel. For FY Q1, the chip maker sees revenue of $410 million to $418 million, up 3% to 5% sequentially, and ahead of the Street at $390.8 million. In late trading, NSM is up 22 cents, or 1.6%, to $13.71. – Barron’s

Goldman Sachs' legal troubles just keep piling up -- and it's becoming a bigger headache for the investment bank and its shareholders. Shares of Goldman Sachs sat out Thursday's market rally. The stock tumbled nearly 3% in mid-afternoon trading and hit a new 52-week low after reports surfaced late Wednesday that the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating a mortgage investment Goldman bundled and sold in 2006 called Hudson Mezzanine. The SEC is already investigating possible fraud involved with an investment Goldman created called Abacus. A spokesman for the SEC declined to comment on whether the agency was indeed conducting an investigation into Hudson Mezzanine. – CNNMoney
