Investing in Pawn Shop Stocks (EZPW, CSH, FCFS)

Over the past year, all three have out performed the Dow (.DJI), but the clear winner is EZCORP, Inc. (EZPW):
EZCORP, Inc. shares are up 32% YTD, they've traded from $10 to $19 in the last 52-weeks and you bet they've gone up and down during that time frame.

Ezcorp Inc. (NASDAQ: EZPW) posted a 44% rise in fourth-quarter profit even after being significantly hurt by Hurricane Ike. The company now sees earnings of 35 cents a share in the first quarter and $1.45 per share in 2009, excluding effects of its two pending deals. Ezcorp’s superior execution in every quarter has helped earn the stock a Zacks #1 Rank (“strong buy”).
To start off the year, we are all looking to buy a company/stock we can believe in, something that will actually give us a positive return. The Pawnshops are a good place to start, they have a credible business model that works during a long term Recession.
