Is Renting Cool Again?

Could Residential REITs make a comeback?  Can Equity Residential (NYSE:EQR), AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE:AVB), and Camden Property Trust (NYSE:CPT) become the high flyers of tomorrow?  Doubtful that it will happen overnight, although the longer term outlook might be promising as many Americans must turn to renting to be able have a place to call home.  Since the housing market bubble burst in 2005-2006, many people who once owned a home may never own another home again.  It is a sad truth of our economy, although the Residential REITs that rely on rents to produce results may find themselves with more demand than supply.
