AOL, Inc. (NYSE:AOL) shares touched a new high of $27.91 today, the highest point since its November spinoff from Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX) but can the trend continue?

America Online is now just AOL (NYSE:AOL) and the company is officially on its own again after the split from Time Warner (NYSE:TWX). Shares of AOL started trading on Tuesday at $27 and finished its first week down 14% to $23 even. The public will get its chance to trade AOL on Dec 10th and there may be cause to celebrate and independent AOL.

Move over Netflix, YouTube may Stream Rental Movies

Move over Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX), Google Inc's (NASDAQ:GOOG) YouTube is in talks with studios, including Lions Gate (LGF), Sony (SNE) and Warner Bros. (TWX), to stream newer movies for rental.
